I consider myself to be an artist and fully dedicated to my passion, I have been involved in local, national and international art conferences and conventions as a teacher and also as a student.
As a teacher, I give classes to people of all ages in my own studio in Bradenton-Sarasota. I have painted more than 100 unique art pieces and have contributed to the artist community with my knowledge and artist skills. In my gallery, you will find the majority of my art pieces displayed. Please enjoy yourself!
I am from Tulsa, Valley of Cauca, a beautiful and picturesque town in the valley of Cauca, located between the chain of mountains in my beautiful Colombia, graduated as the bilingual secretary, student of literature and modern languages in Cali’s Santiago University.
In my spare time I dedicated to learn, practice and create different forms and kinds of arts, using them every time I had the chance, painting, making my own picture frames and doing crafts from a lot of recycling materials I fell in love with it and my passion has been growing without stopping, so far. I have the conviction that I have much to learn, that is why during the year I attend to art conventions and classes. I give art classes and every day I receive more than I give because I learn a lot from my students every day.
WHERE DO I LIVE & WHERE DO I HAVE MY BUSINESS?
I arrived in the USA in 1990 to new york city where I lived for 12 years and I have been living in Florida for another 12. I have my art studio in Bradenton and reside in Sarasota, I profoundly believe that I am not here by a coincidence, Sarasota and Bradenton are areas full of arts.
WHICH PROJECTS AM I WORKING NOW?
At this moment I am working on several projects with children since I am hosting a summer art program, we are making beautiful projects on fabric, glass, ceramic, wood, plaster, recyclable material, and we are applying different techniques and creating beautiful decorative art pieces.
I attended to the international art convention in Colombia in April, a wonderful event, and I also went to Chicago to the international art conference of decorative painters of the United States which were a great success. I proudly have to say that I participate in the first cultural event “Colombia Contigo” and my painting “the entrance to my dreams” was the first place winner of the event.
WHO AM I?
Mother of four and wife of a businessman, I am a very busy lady… Since I remember that I exist, in the school I helped my classmates and my teachers with art projects and drawing and if I have a pencil in my hand I had to draw something. Now I am a member of Society Of Decorative Painters in the United States; I am an artist by nature with many desires to create new things every day and to transmit the skills and talent that God has given me with the whole world, which fills my life in many different ways.
WHAT INSPIRES ME TO MAKE ART?
Everything! The sky, the sea, a bird flying, a tree, what people do and say, the routine trips I make in the morning when I take my daughter to school, the pictures, the landscape, the magazines, in other words, a brush, a pencil. The reasons are infinite that make me think about creating something.
WHEN AND WHERE I FEEL LIKE MORE CREATIVE?
When I am taking or giving classes in my art studio, surrounded by creative people who makes me think that imagination does not have limits. I also learn a lot from them. This is my passion. Because art is the expression or thoughts and because through it, we give health to our mind and we feed our spirit. Definitively there is no better therapy for the soul and body than art.
WHAT RESOURCES DO I USE TO MAKE ART?
The resources are uncountable. God has given us many things to make art. We are art, unique and unrepeatable, part of nature and so many materials and items that we can turn into true works of art.
